The storyboard, the animatic and previs help you plan a film before you shoot it or make it in 3D. We first draw the shots, edit them into a video to time them, then rebuild them in simple 3D. It saves you bad surprises and needless costs.

What is a storyboard?
A series of drawings that shows the film shot by shot, with the framing, the action and the camera moves.
What is an animatic used for?
To judge the pacing of the film before making it. It is the storyboard edited into a video, with the length of each shot and temp sound.
What is the best storyboard software?
It depends on what you need. Storyboarder is free and simple, Storyboard Pro is a professional standard, and a drawing app like Procreate is often enough.
What is the difference between previs and storyboard?
A storyboard is drawn. Previs is a simple 3D version, with the camera and the moves of the real film.
